Early Closure of Last DTE Coal Power Plant
“(Detroit Free Press) “Detroit-based DTE Energy Co. announced a clean energy plan Wednesday that includes moving up the retirement of its coal-fired Monroe Power Plant — one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases in the United States — from 2035 to 2032, which the utility said will result in an 85% reduction in its carbon emissions nine years earlier than planned.”
